• DATA ANALYSIS: Create and report descriptive statistics, conduct literature searches, independent research and summarize findings for senior researchers and policy associates. Coordinate project activities and communications among diverse groups of internal and external clients and team members, interpret study specifications, research findings and quantitative analyses for relevant audiences. Trained on conducting claims data analysis using SAS to query data and create workbooks that inform team decisions and recommendations to clients.
• OUTREACH AND MARKETING:Conduct environmental scans to determine key stakeholders and community organizations relevant to client staff based on project, provide all logistical support conducting virtual seminars for outreach and marketing projects to prospective suppliers and current suppliers, assist in the creation of all event materials (run-of-show document, script, slide show, etc.)
• PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Prepare project reports, presentations and proposals, delivering technical assistance on Service Now helpdesk, creating timelines, user guides, and communications documents (flyers, e-mails, webinar information, etc.). Working within Agile development framework with Data Modeling Teams to provide Tier 3 technical assistance.
• BUSNESS DEVELOPMENT: Coordinator for all Requests for Proposal (RFP) under Project Director, maintain timelines, coordinate writing, maintain version control, and coordinate across multiple teams like finance, subcontractors, consultants, team members, etc. Create Gantt charts, Skills lists and Matrices, project management graphics and staffing requirements.
• EDUCATION: Commissioned as a Marine Corps officer in March of 2021 ranked 2nd in the class. Trained and educated at The Basic School in Quantico, VA in October of 2021 and graduated in the top 20% of the company. Received Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of Combat Engineer Officer and attended the course subsequently graduating 1st in April of 2022.
• LEADERSHIP: Billeted as Executive Officer at Bravo Co, 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, 4th Marine Division in the Marine Corps Forces Reserve in charge of leading company success to include all operations, administrative oversight, and mentorship of junior officers.
• COMBAT ENGINEERING: Display mastery of the four facets of combat engineering: mobility, counter mobility, survivability, and general engineering. Actively participate in an aggressive physical training routine to maintain a high standard of fitness. Execute assigned additional duties and enhance professional development through scheduled and individual professional military education.
• AMERICORPS: Teach for America (TFA) is a nonprofit AmeriCorps organization which places its teacher corps in educationally underserved and underfunded rural and urban communities across the United States for a two-year service. One of 63 corps members who served over 15,000 students in the Arkansas-Mississippi Delta. Monthly professional development. Served as a second-year content leader in science education for 15 first and second-year teachers.
• COURSES: Taught a total of seven classes a day in 8th Grade Science, Biology, Physical Science, and Environmental Science according to the Next Generation Science Standards; directly responsible for over 100 students. Created unique curriculums that provided hands-on activities and interactive notebooks for students.
• TEST IMPROVEMENT: ACT prep for juniors and seniors in science providing once a week tutoring after school as well as open lunch policy. Second year student test scores increased from 7% ready or exceeding on the ACT Aspire to 43% ready or exceeding.
• PARENTAL/STUDENT INVOLVEMENT: Served as the parental coordinator in second year. Also served as the 8th grade counselor liaison for students who had behavioral issues and plans. Maintained supportive environment and detailed interactions between students and other teachers when they experienced behavioral challenges or setbacks.
• PATIENT CONSENT: Recruited patients on three different studies in the clinic at the GWU Department of Rheumatology. Maintained accurate records and consent forms for scleroderma, hidradenitis suppurativa, and lupus studies.
• DATA ENTRY: Analyzed patient charts and input specific information into medical system software. Entered and tracked demographics, patient disease activity, and other sensitive medical information.
• INDEPENDENT PROJECT: Investigated the impacts of patient education levels on disease activity scores in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and Systemic Sclerosis. Results showed that patients with lupus did not have significant differences in disease activity scores. Patients with scleroderma with a lower education level had significantly higher physician disease activity and patient reported disease activity. Socioeconomic status and education were compared and controlled for.
• MANUSCRIPT COLLABORATION: Participated in experiment looking at the regeneration of keratinocytes as well as cytokine production in human samples with no disorder, chronic wounds, and hidradenitis suppurativa after growth disruption. Results showed that cell viability decreases for patients with chronic wounds, yet not HS or normal keratinocyte function. Keratinocyte scratch assay also showed that HS patients have increased keratinocyte dysfunction compared to chronic wound patients or normal skin patients.
• INDEPENDENT PROJECT: Solo experimentation of phenotypic differences in NK subset after infection with Encephalitozoon cuniculi. Performed all aspects of this experiment independently using Flow Cytometry and Prism analysis and was able to show that there was a marked increase in IFN gamma and granzyme B expression in the murine spleen and mesenteric lymph nodes 6 days post infection. • SUPERVISOR: Trained three laboratory assistants in breeding, genotyping, DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, and gel electrophoresis and supervised their work in second year. • MOUSE EXPERIENCE: Maintained breeding of all mice including weaning pups, clipping/tagging mice for genotyping, and all cell culture.
